Strange Rules for
Chinese Tourists

Swimming pools: Not should they pee in swimming pools.

Dry in rooms: Don't dry your handkerchief and underwear on the lampshade.

Diving: Wherever you dive in the ocean, don't catch and take away any marine life.

Queue jumping: Respect order in public. Jumping the line is not acceptable anywhere.

Eating: Should not drink soup straight from the bowl or make slurping sounds, when eating noodles.

At the buffet table: When you're at a buffet dinner, only take what you can consume. Do not waste food.

Foreign places: When visiting a foreign place, we're the guests and have to treat the host with respect.

On tipping: Service industries in a lot of countries honor tipping. If you think the service is good, please tip accordingly.

Toilet use: Do not occupy the public toilet for a very long time. Do not leave footprints on the toilet seats and flush after use.

On the airplane: Leave life jackets under your seat. Do not steal them, if a dangerous situation arises then someone else will not have a life jacket.

Taking in a show: Respect the performers. Clap after the show to show your gratitude to the performers. During curtain call, join the crowd for a standing ovation. If a performer slips up on stage, be understanding but do not cheer, whistle and jeer.

Photography: When taking photos in tourist spots, do not fight and be patient. Do not force the others to take a picture with you, nor obstruct the others when they are photographing. If you would like the others' to take a picture for you, say thank you.

Foreign countries: Tourists shall observe public order and respect social morality in tourism activities, respect local customs, cultural traditions and religious beliefs, care for tourism resources, protect the ecological environment, and abide by the norms of civilized tourist behaviors.

In the public: Not to pick their noses in public, to keep their nose-hair neatly trimmed and, if they had to pick their teeth, never to use their fingers. Not to spit in inappropriate places, not to litter and only urinate or defecate in designated places. No matter how hot it is, you should never walk with bare belly around.

In Egypt: Respect historical relics, and do not scribble on, climb on or touch a stone sculpture.

In France: It should never be given chrysanthemums or yellow flowers to the host.

In Germany: Snap fingers to beckon dogs, not humans.

In Iran: Do not talk about babies eyes.

In Islamic countries: Must not be talking about pork.

In Italy: Do not give someone a handkerchief. It is considered an omen for wiping tears when you lose someone.

In Japan: Diners were instructed not to play with their clothes or hair during a meal.

In Korea: Don't pick up your chopsticks before your senior. And face sideways when drinking alcoholic beverages.

In Scotland: May no stone be bought as souvenirs.

In Singapore: Not eating in the subway.

In Spain: Ladies should wear earrings when going out. Otherwise, it is the same as going out naked.

In Thailand: It is taboo to talk about the royal family.

In Hungary: No mirrors are smashed.

In the UK: Do not greet the others by asking them questions like 'Where are you going?' or 'Have you eaten yet?' as you would in China.
